Acting Co-Presbyter for Transition The Rev. Lynn Nelson 585-242-0080 ext 12 |
Lynn holds an M.Div. (magna cum laude) from Duke University, and has completed her doctoral coursework at CRCDS. She has also completed advanced interim training, interim executive training and other programs in mediation, conflict management, coaching and spirituality. In addition to having served nine churches in our presbytery as an interim or stated supply pastor, Lynn has held several positions of committee and Presbytery leadership. |
| Lynn’s tasks include being a resource to the presbytery in transition and a pastor to clergy and their families. She works closely with Council, COM, Clergy Care and Development, and Personnel. In addition, she represents Presbytery in Synod and GA activities in cooperation with Linda Badger Becker | ||

Linda has Master of Arts in Christian Education from Princeton Theological Seminary and is a Certified Christian Educator in the PC (USA). She is an elder at New Life Presbyterian Church. Linda has three daughters and five young “grandlings.” She is married to Rick Becker, owner/ manager of Becker’s Furniture in Rochester, NY. |
| Serving since 1993, Linda’s primary responsibility is direct assistance to churches, offering consultation, training, and resources in a wide variety of program areas including stewardship, outreach, and education. Her latest specialty has been media ministry. She also serves as staff resource for program committees of the Presbytery. | ||

Merl is a retired Presbyterian Minister having served most recently as Pastor of the United Presbyterian Stone Church in Caledonia. Previously Merl served churches in Western Pennsylvania and was a Presbyterian Missionary in Ethiopia and Zambia for ten years. Merl and his wife Jane are parents to Chip, Pete, Pam, and Michael, and grandparents to Maury, Whitney, Cody, Emily, Megan, Lauren, Noah, and Samuel. Long time hobby: photography. Newest hobby: geocaching. |
| Merl’s responsibilities include keeping the Presbytery Financial Accounts in good order, making deposits, paying bills, providing financial reports as required by the Presbytery, its Committees and Congregations and acting as a resource for Congregational Financial Officers. | ||

| The Program Secretary’s primary role is as secretary to the Acting Co-Presbyter for Program, Linda Badger Becker and in that capacity she also provides support staff services to Congregational Ministries, Mission & Advocacy, and Self-Development of People. She also produces InfoPak, maintains the Presbytery database, and prepares the annual Directory for publication. | ||

Sharon has been an administrator in non-profit organizations for over 30 years. She is a member of the National Association of Church Business Administrators, an elder, and a member of the Presbytery’s Clergy Care and Development Committee. She holds a degree in Business Administration from Temple University. |
| Sharon served as Office Administrative Consultant at PGV from December 2004 through December 2005. She became part of the “regular” staff in 2006 and is now serving as Operations Manager. Her responsibilities include managing the Presbytery office, serving as support staff for the Acting Co-Presbyter for Transition and the Stated Clerk, coordinating logistics for presbytery meetings, and supporting the work of committees staffed by the Executive Presbyter. | ||

Susan is a member, elder and Clerk of Session of Laurelton United Presbyterian Church. Susan is also employed by Laurelton as Choir Director and Accompanist and conducts the Adult, Children, and Bell Choirs. Susan is married to Peter Orr, and together they are parents to Ryan, a junior at SUNY Oneonta; Megan and Emily, both seniors in high school. |
| Since 2001, Susan has increased the visibility and usage of the Resource Center, which offers a wide variety of materials for borrowing. Susan’s services include personal assistance, research, and guidance. Currently, she is working on certification from the National Training Center for Resource Center Directors, specifically on her certification project, The Music Library being introduced in 2008. Susan also serves the denomination as Vice President of the Presbyterian Association for Resource Centers. | ||

Brigit lives in Scottsville with her husband and 4 children, ages 4-14. She works part-time at Catholic Family Center, promoting social justice in Catholic parishes. Brigit worships at St. Bridget’s Church in the city. She has a graduate degree in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota. |
| Bridgit visits congregations to share peacemaking ideas and be a catalyst for peacemaking activities in congregations within the Presbytery, works with Mission & Advocacy in developing new Presbytery-wide peacemaking programs, and is a visible part of the ecumenical community addressing peace and justice issues. | ||

Webmaster Bruce Wilbur 585-298-9394 |
Bruce has been in the computer business since 1982, and began working on web sites in 1994. He’s had his own dot-com since 1998 and has been working as a freelance web designer since 2000, doing business as The Secret Labs. He also works part-time at the Winton Branch and the Sully Branch of the Rochester Public Library. Fun Fact: Bruce is a car-free bicycle commuter, cycling thousands of miles every year in all weather. |
| Bruce is our “webgeek”—the creative and technical web site designer for pbygenval.org. In addition to maintaining the site, he maintains our internal office network and file server, and is in charge of the “Department of General Mayhem and Comic Relief”. As a contractor, he reports to Acting Co-Presbyter for Program Linda Badger Becker, and to the Administration Committee. |

Our web site uses JavaScript to hide our e-mail addresses from the automated programs spammers use to harvest e-mail addresses from web sites. It also hides them from the many new viruses that harvest addresses from an infected PC’s Temporary Internet Files.
Reducing spam and reducing the spread of viruses are good things.
