Global Climate Change—What Can We Do About It?
Jim Tappon, Elder, Irondequoit Presbyterian Church
Get the facts on Global Warming by watching a version of the PowerPoint that is the basis for Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”. After the presentation, let’s talk about how we as individuals and as members of our church can have an impact to help protect and preserve the home that God has given us.
Jim has been interested in the weather since 7th grade science, but life took him a different way. After over 30 years with Kodak working with computer systems, Jim came to a Presbytery of Genesee Valley showing of “An Inconvenient Truth” and after seeing the movie, knew that he had to become part of the solution. He applied and was selected to be one of 1000 people from across the US to be trained personally by the Honorable Mr. Gore.
“We all need to work together to do what is needed to prevent the worst impact of the global warming—but it is doable. We have all the technology that we need to meet the challenge. We only need the will to do what is right for ourselves, our children, our friends and neighbors and most of all for our planet.”
Come and listen for a while and then let’s discuss concrete plans of what YOU can do to make a difference. This is important stuff. If you don't do it, who will?
“I believe that as Christians, we have a responsibility to take careof the home that God freely gave to us all.”
