Presbytery Elected Officers

	Moderator Rev. Susan Wesley Hartley	Susan came to the Presbytery in November 1999 as the installed pastor of Union Presbyterian Church, Scottsville. She has served on CoM since 2000 and on Council in 2003 and 2004. She is a a “third career” pastor, with prior careers in journalism and crisis intervention. She has two sons and four grandchildren, and enjoys wildly colored quilts, travel, plays, movies, and labyrinths.
	The Moderator presides of meetins of the Presbytery and at all clergy installations. The Moderator is a member of Council and a commissioner to the General Assembly. In addition to the duties and powers given by the Book of Order (G-9.0202), the Moderator may be given special responsibilities as approved by presbytery. The Moderator chairs the Council during the year after leaving office.
	Vice-Moderator Nancy Sprenkle	Nancy is an elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford. She has served the Presbytery on its Personnel and Administration Committees and as a Trustee. Nancy has been a real estate broker for 23 years and lives in Pittsford with her husband, Dick. They have two children and five grandchildren all living in the Boston area.
	The Vice-Moderator presides over meetings of presbytery and Clergy installations at the request of or in the absence of the Moderator. If the office of Moderator becomes vacant, the Vice-Moderator fills the unexpired term. The Vice-Moderator serves on Council. Ordinarily, the Vice-Moderator is nominated to serve as Moderator during the following year.
	Stated Clerk The Rev. Val Fowler 585-738-8382, 585-624-2160	Val is pastor for Honeoye Falls, First. Previously he served Chili, First for 12 years and pastorates in Texas and Oklahoma. A folk guitar and vocal musician, Val has dedicated his talent to providing benefit concerts for congregations and mission projects. His wife is Carol, and his stepchildren are Mandy and Brendan.
	The Stated Clerk is responsible for maintaining the minutes and the rolls of the presbytery and for official correspondence. The stated clerk defends and interprets the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He takes minutes for the Council and the Committee on Ministry, and consults with them on polity issues.

	The Journal Clerk keeps a record of each meeting of the presbytery and transmits it to the Stated Clerk
	Treasurer Gene Wolfarth
	The Treasurer receives all funds payable to the presbytery and disburses all funds within the adopted budget of the presbytery. Extra-budget disbursements are made only by order of the presbytery. The Treasurer is an ex-officio member of the Council. The Treasurer serves as a resource to the Administration Committee and the Trustees, and is responsible for arranging for the annual financial review of the presbytery’s records.
