2008 Congregational Ministries Grants
Application Deadline: Friday May 23
The Congregational Ministries Committee is accepting grant applications for projects in ways to:
- Equip congregations to discover and expand their call to mission and ministry,
- Identify and empower specific congregations for revitalization or transformation,
- Promote partnerships and linkages between congregations, and to
- support congregational leadership, PLUS
- A special opportunity for small churches (fewer than 100 attending Sunday worship) for capital projects.
Grants range in size from $750 to $1000 each. Regardless of your size or circumstance, please consider enriching your church's ministry by applying. Grant Definitions and Application Forms
- Equipping Congregations to Discover Their Call to Mission and Ministry
- May include providing resources and educational support or promoting specific mission projects consistent with a congregation’s call to mission and ministry. Because funding is limited, capital projects or operating expenses are not likely to be considered.
“Equipping” Project Application
“Equipping” Project Application - Promoting Partnerships and Linkages Betweeen Congregations
- Join churches together for a specific purpose, such as a cooperative ministry or mission project. They may be one-time events or an ongoing series of activities. To qualify for a grant, at least one partner should have an average of fewer than 100 attending Sunday morning worship. Preference is shown to new partnerships.
“Linkages” Project Application
“Linkages” Project Application - Empowering Specific Congregations for Revitalization and Transformation
- Revitalization of a congregation occurs when an existing congregation makes a long-term commitment to develop a new direction for mission, ministry and worship. Specific funding is provided to assist congregations in implementing plans that have been developed as a result of using the Percept ReVision Context Report or the Natural Church Development survey tool. Only those congregations that have used these particular tools are eligible for this specific funding.
“Revitalization” Project Application
“Revitalization” Project Application - Congregational Leadership
- Grants are available to elders, deacons, and other congregational leaders to enable them to attend training conferences that will help them gain new skills and equip them for ministry. Attendance at conferences must be completed by June 30, 2009
“Leadership” Project Application
“Leadership” Project Application - First Presbyterian Church of Victor’s Small Church Transformational Project Grants
- During their recent capital improvement program, Victor First included a mission component. These funds are a gift to the Presbytery for the benefit of small churches (less than 100 Sunday worship attendance) for small capital improvement projects.
