Human and Faith Development

The Rev. Cindy Kissel-Ito, Ph.D., pastor of St. James Presbyterian Church, King William VA and is adjunct faculty at Union Theological Seminary-Presbyterian School of Christian Education, Richmond VA
Course Description
This intensive course will explore historical and contemporary theories of human psychological and faith development.

  • apply these theories to teaching people of all ages in the church,
  • conduct faith interviews and elicit drawings that portray images of faith
  • examine this material using the lens of developmental theory.

Class format will utilize a variety of teaching models to further inform participants’ future educational practice.

This 30-hour course will fulfill the certification requirement for CCE or CACE.
